The privacy policy and the procedures of the StartupsJo platform adhere to all applicable laws in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, including the Personal Data Protection Law No. (24) of 2023.

Objective

This policy aims to inform users of the StartupsJo platform about the data collection mechanisms, how it is processed, and the permissions that are requested. We collect this information from users when they register on the platform, create a user profile, or fill out forms on the platform to provide and improve the service.

1. Purpose of Data Use

Int@j uses the collected data for various purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the service;

  • To notify you of any changes to the service;

  • To allow you to participate in interactive features of our service when you choose to do so;

  • To provide customer support;

  • To gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our service;

  • To monitor the usage of our service;

  • To detect, prevent, and address technical issues;

  • To fulfill our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between us and you, including for billing and collection;

  • To provide you with notices about your account and/or subscription, including expiration and renewal notices, email instructions, etc.;

During the use of our service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Other relevant information about the startup ecosystem

3. Cookie Data Tracking

Permissions Requested from the User and Their Purposes

  1. Data transfer to and from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan: According to the law, your data, including personal data, may be transferred to computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction. If you are located outside Jordan and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including personal data, to Jordan and process it there. Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer. Int@j will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the Personal Data Protection Law, and no transfer of your personal data will occur to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information.

  2. Data Retention: We will retain your data electronically for two years, as retaining this data serves the purposes of internal analysis, providing you with the services you need, protecting you from fraud, and resolving disputes. Retaining your data aligns with legal and regulatory requirements, helping us demonstrate compliance with our responsibilities.

  3. Commercial Transactions: If we or our affiliates are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your personal data may be transferred. We may also disclose your information in other cases to:

  • The startup ecosystem including individuals, investors, and companies;

  • Contractors and service providers and other third parties we use to support our business;

  • To fulfill the purpose for which you provide it;

  • For the purpose of including your company's logo on our website;

  • For any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information;

  • With your consent in any other cases;

  • If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of the company, our customers, or others.

4. Data and Information Security

The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Based on the Personal Data Protection Law mentioned in Article 4, Paragraph B, you have data protection rights as follows:

  • The right to know, access, and obtain your data held by the responsible party.

  • The right to withdraw previous consent.

  • The right to correct, amend, add, or update data.

  • The right to restrict processing within a specified time.

  • The right to erase or conceal data in accordance with the provisions of this law.

  • The right to object to processing or profiling if they are unnecessary to achieve the purposes for which the data was collected, are excessive for its requirements, are discriminatory, unfair, or contrary to the law.

  • The right to transfer a copy of your data from one responsible party to another.

  • The right to be informed of any breach, violation, or compromise of the security and safety of your data.

5. Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for use by children under the age of 18 ("Child" or "Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 18. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us. If we learn that we have collected personal data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. We will let you know via email and/or a prominent notice on our service, before the change becomes effective and update the "Effective Date" at the top of this Privacy Policy. We advise you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
